James and Margaret lived in Benton Township in Paulding County, Ohio.

Margaret belonged to the Laetitia Club and was named in the area newspaper, "Tuesday evening the Laetitia club was entertained by Mrs. H.E. Rubin. The affair was very pleasant and unique. The members were requested to come attired as Irish biddies with masks, which they did much to the amusements of all present. The decorations and refreshments were carried out in the color appropriate to the St. Patrick season and were most artistic. Mrs. Maude Houser seemed to be the most familiary with the profile of Mr. Poarker and got the prize for her skill in drawing him. Mrs. James Finan seemed to be able to see through the masks and recognize the outline of each figure, for it was she who got the prize for guessing the names to the ladies who were masked. The Misses Maude Gant, Beatrice Brady, Naomi Gorrell and Cecil and Beulah Lamb charmed all with their vocal and instrumental selections. Mesdames C.E. Graham and James Finan were the guests." [Fort Wayne Daily News, Monday 13 Mar 1916, pg. 12]

James was 34 years, 8 months and 13 days old when he died.

In 1897, Margaret was living in Payne, Ohio, in Paulding County.

Margaret was 73 years old when she died.

Margaret's obituary reads, "MRS. MARGARET FINAN LAID TO REST. Mrs. Margaret Finan was born June 14, 1843 in Tipperary, Ireland; when six years old she came with her parents the Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Ryan to Canada; after a few years residence there they moved to Indiana near New Haven. Here her girlhood was spent until she was married to James Finan, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Finan who lived in the southern part of Benton township, Paulding county, O. Near here the young husband and wife began life on a farm where they lived and tolled together until the husband was taken away by death from his young wife and children. His two sons Patrick and Edward were called home before ....he was survived by.....women. She died July 19, 1916, aged 73 years, 1 month and 5 days, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. E. Hyman where she had resided for the past year. During most of this time she was an invalid and received the most tender care from her children who survived her, who are John and James of Payne, Thomas of New Haven, Ind., Mrs. W. P. Lamb and Mrs. C. E. Hyman, also of Payne. She also leaves to mourn, two brothers Patrick and John Ryan of New Haven, Ind., five grandchildren, Marjorie and Josephine Hyman and Margaret, Helen and John Finan, besides many other relatives and a wide circle of friends. The funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Friday morning, July 21st, at St. John the Baptist Catholic church of which she had been a member since the establishment of the first Flat Rock Mission. Many a time before the erection of a church in Payne was the holy sacrifice of the Mass offered in Mrs. Finan's home as was the custom in those days. She was a life long member of the Altar society and of St. Joseph Aid society. Rev. Father Thomas Quinlan of the Immaculate Conception church in Toledo, sang the requiem high mass and the pastor Rev. Father Baumgartner delivered a beautiful touching sermon. The pall bearers were J. Y. Stimmel, Frank Ternet, Leo Sullivan, Fred Pio, M. E. Brady and M. Maloy. The many beautiful floral offerings, testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held by her neighbors, were carried by her granddaughters, Marjorie and Josephine Hyman and Margaret Finan, also Helen and Irene Hyman of Memphis, Tennessee, and Katherine Brady, Monica Vauble and Katherine Maloy. Relatives and friends from a distance who came for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Finan, Patrick Ryan, and Mr. and Mrs. John Ryan and children, Lawrence, Julia, Agnes and Leonard, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Minsel, Mr. and Mrs. K.
