While this is an unusually large family born over a span of 27 years (unusual for one woman), the births are for the most part approximately 1 1/2 years apart, which is reasonable. The list of children is supported by the census records. The 1860 census[1] has the first 11 children (although Eliza is listed as Elias), the 1870 census[2] has Elizabeth through Mary (but is missing Margaret, who might have been with relatives), and the 1880 census[3] has Ezra and Walter through Martha.
