Texana and JamesBlack married in Coryell county on May 13, 1874...which is only about 5 year safter Patience died. Kate was born about 1876 and William E about 1879 per the1880 McLenna n census record.

I remember something about Texanna having a son that lived in Abilene(Taylor county). So mayb e the Black's moved there after James died.

Shirley

This was written by Patience's granddaughter. "Mymother Julia.] and little Joel and her fa ther lived with Patiences parents Joel and Sarah Crain for many years after Patience's death . Grandfather Black remarried after 15 years and he married a first cousin of Patience, Texa s SmithMilner, who was the daughter of Joe Smith, son of Gen. James Smith.

She first married a Milner at Henderson. They were later divorced and that created quit e a sensation then as divorces was then almost unheard of. James Black lived only a few years after marrying the second time.

Mr. John Crow of Henderson remembers Tex Smith and the Milner she married. Texas Smith and M r. Milner had a daughter. She lived to be grown, married and had a daughter, but bothshe an d the daughter died when her daughter was a child so they have no descendents."
