It is per the Schwenningen Heimatverein Ausgewanderer files that this couple was part of the 1847 emigration. Travelling with them were one dau and one son. Their family registry is III-194. Not an obvious candidate in the U.S. but there is a potential candidate in the Jacob Speck of the 1871 Ontario, Canada Census (in Welland). There is also a Jacob Speck, 77, in the 1892 NY census living in Buffalo, NY. (Ancestry.com. New York, State Census, 1892 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2012. Original data: New York State Education Department, Office of Cultural Education. 1892 New York State Census. Albany, NY: New York State Library.) Another possible candidate is in Ward 6, Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, PA in the 1850 census.
