[The first source is Deane, cited above, and the second isSource:Randall, Frank Alfred. Randall and Allied Families. Nothing on p. 59 appears to be pertinent, but p. 39 says Elizabeth Turner [127cg], d/o Hannah Randall [127c] and Daniel Turner m. Israel Holmes, and then it proceeds to describe Israel Holmes the father, including saying he was "lost, 'sailing into Plymouth harbour, Feb. 24, 1684'". Thus it is not clear where the date of 1701 comes from.]
