    Chelsea, VT was not settled until 1781, so this marriage likely took place in Winchester and was also recorded in Chelsea after the family moved there.

    The year is clearly stated as 1777, which is before the death of Ichabod's first wife. Either the year is wrong and should be 1779 as suggested by Jenks & Seymour, or this was a different Ichabod Franklin (or Ichabod's first wife died earlier - but she supposedly had a child in 1778).
