They divorced in the court paper dated May 17 1866 makes Caroline restored to all rights of a single person; but, gives Henry until the last day of the next term of the court to show cause for annulment of the judgement. If not at that time it is totally final. One story came from Ed Schrum saying it had to do with the war and she was upset about it. The other story on the marriage, divorce and remarriage by Ozelle Mosier says he left her for another woman. They remarried. The story from Benjamin Wesley Schrum said his mother told him Henry Clay had gotten a disease from chickens, he worked in a large place that raised them and that is what was supposed to have killed him. He also worked for the railroad and he and the crew he was on broke the first sod in Kansas. Also he drove a wagon and farmed.
