Research Notes

• The LDS IGI¹ supposedly comes from extracted marriage records. On it, the mother of Henry is listed as "Louisa Nilson". There are two mysteries here:

1. Robert Olmstead's wife, Louisa Gunther, could not have been Henry's mother. Henry was born in 1885 and Louisa and Robert did not marry until 1886, so it is more likely that Henry's biological mother was Robert's first wife (and Louisa's sister), Theresa Gunther. Henry may have listed Louisa on his marriage application, since she was the only mother figure that he ever knew.
2. Where does the surname "Nilson" comes from??? Could it be a middle name or a previous marriage???

• Frances Horvath's mother was Josephine Gunther, another sister to both Theresa and Louisa Gunther, which would mean that Henry P Olmstead and Francis Horvath were first cousins.
