Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Berean Fundamental Church in Morrill for Mrs. Beulah Hughson, 75, long time resident of the Sioux County ranch country. She died at her home July 31. Rev. Ernest Skoog officiated, and burial was in the Glen Cemetery. She was born in Putnam County, Mo., Sept. 2, 1889, where she received her early education. In 1910 she moved with her parents to Northwestern Nebraska, near the town of Crawford. On Dec. 31, 1910 she married Harry L. Hughson in Harrison. She has lived in Sioux County since that time. She has managed the ranch since her husband's death in 1941.Survivors include two sons, Virgil of Agate and Marquis of Mitchell; two daughters, Mrs. Isabelle Franklin and Mrs. Mae Deane Mansfield, both of Crawford, three brothers, Reuben, Ovid and Mervil Reece, all of Crawford; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kruse of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Nana R. Williford of Groveland, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a son, Alfred, in addition to her husband.A memorial communion service was held in the Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Mitchell at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Lloyd E. Metheny officiating.

  3. Given the estimated date of birth of their first child, Virgil, the 1910 marriage date seems more realistic.
