Thomas Hooker, Hartford, Connecticut, 1586-1908, p. 18; list two sons by the name of Edward, both dying young. This is almost certainly an error resulting from misreading the death record, dated 21 Nov 1683, as 21 Nov 1688. The published records only show the 1683 death record, and inspecting the original family register for Grindal Rawson and his wife(here) it looks like this is the correct interpretation. First it appears a stray mark closes the top circle of the 3, but not the bottom circle, and the context agrees: the order on the page before the birth of Susannah in 1686 is inconsistent with 1688. Finally, there is only one death record, so in particular, Crane's use of Nov. 21 twice, first in 1683 for the first Edward, and second in 1688 for an alleged second Edward, is simply invalid, while Hooksr loses his justification for two Edwards.
