"My father, Garet (Jack) Zevalkink and mother, Olive Rinn Zevalkink were
sweethearts in highschool, (South Highschool, Grand Rapids) and when WWI
started, dad enlisted. Michigan had to pass a special bill to allow the
boys 2l and over to finish school when they got back. Old pictures of
my family got burned up and the only other people that may have some are
those I remember being in the pictures. Mother and Dad had friends
named Guy and Lenore Harrington (Herrington?). Dad worked for the Mich.
Unempl. ComP. Comm. for 35 years and Glen Oversmith, (daughter Natalie)
was his boss. Other names that come to mind are Tony Kruisenga
(spelling) and wife Joanne. Also, mother had a friend named Frances
Backart, husband Lloyd, and daughter Judy. It would be a major miracle
if any of these people responded. One can only hope.
