Family:George Waite and Elsie Burkitt (1)

George Robert Edgar was Born 21 Feb 1895 at Crosby Grange and later moved to Neap House (in circ. 1988 occupied by Mr C Robinson Tel: (01724) 782226).

Eddie as he was known as worked as a joiner and following the marriage lived at 98 Digby Street, Scunthorpe, where Violet was born on 12 May 1921. The family then moved to East Dean, Rotherham where he had a workshop. Around 1925 following a breakdown of the marriage Elsie took the children to her parents home at the Manse in Carr House Road Doncaster. About two years later c. 1926 Eddie sought a reconciliation but this was not to be and he was not heard of again. It is thought that he emmigrated to Canada to join his brother Carl and work on the Railroad.
