George lists his parents as being born in Ohio. Nellie listed as Mary with parents from Illinois. Both listed as born in Wisconsin. Listed as renting their farm. No information listed about being able to read or write. I suspect the census taker was a bit sloppy.

About the 1894 tornadoes, 21-Sep-1894: "George Holman's buildings, a little east of this place, were brushed away, leaving but little to show how the premises appeared an hour before. When the roof went off he and his family made their escape over the walls, but one of the children [Ora] was killed before the fury of the storm had left them."
