In the 1900 Census, Frank and Margaret are listed as having been married for 7 years, which would give an estimated marriage date of about 1883, when Frank would have been 16 yrs of age and Margaret 11 yrs of age. This seems unlikely. (Note that in the 1900 Census, Margaret is listed as 33 yrs of age, born in 1872. Based on her stated birth date, which appears to be accurate, she would have been 11 yrs of age in 1883.)

In the 1910 Census, they again are listed as being married for 16 years. While this is consistent with 1900 census, it still seems unlikely.

There is a marriage license for Frank Dick and Mary C. Tolson, for a marriage in February 1880, which is often cited as evidence of Frank and Margaret's marriage. However, Frank was 13 in 1880, and listed as living with his parents in the 1880 census. The Frank Dick who married Mary Tolson was listed in the 1880 Census, age 23, and living with his wife Mollie and her parents in Laclede, not in Brookfield - a different Frank Dick.

Margaret's maiden name and parentage is taken from her Death certificate. In 1880 she was 8 years old and living with her parents. When and where she and Frank married remains unclear, just as it does for Frank's sister Mary and her husband Charles Yancy.
