Delmer and Rita had one son and one daughter.

Rita's obituary reads, "RITA M. EMENHISER GICK, 80, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Jefferson Township, she was a homemaker and member of Ascension Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women Missionary League. "She loved her grandchildren." Survivors include son, Kenneth Lee of Mountain Rest, S. C.; five grandchildren, Kimberley Gick Gareiss (Mark) of Columbia City, Jeffrey Smith (Mindy) of Fort Wayne, Ruby Gick Hahn (Paul) of Columbia City, Kevin Smith (Kelly) of Fort Wayne and Billy Jo Gick Grant (Eric) of Dominican Republic; 14 great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Smith in March, 2003. Service is 1 p.m. Saturday, with calling one hour prior, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8811 St. Joe Road. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
