Cause of Death: Cerebral sclerosis Address: 260 Sixth St., Richland Center, Wisconsin

Taken from Family Tree compilation by Laurie Albrecht:

Lawrence Nerby's memories of his great grandmother Mary Ann Gerrity Adney: He recalls a poem she wrote in his autograph book: "When you get old and can not see, put on your glasses and think of me."

He remembers she was a tiny woman. He was going to take his mother and father from Milwaukee to Richland Center for her funeral, in his 1930 roadster. He kissed his girlfriend Jane good bye and left with his parents. It was snowing and the storm was getting heavier. His father had two bottles of beer with him and put them on the running board when they got out of the car to check the snow depth. They were only as far as Pewaukee when they turned around. The beers were still on the running board with just the cap showing when they got home. They never made it to her funeral.

Buried at St. Philips Cemetery in Crawford County, Wisconsin (see tombstone photo).
