Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s about Christopher Confeld Name: Christopher Confeld Year: 1738 Place: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Source Publication Code: 9041 Primary Immigrant: Confeld, Christopher

Annotation: Contains 29,800 names, with annotations written by Krebs (see no. 4203). Various references to the names in Strassburger will be found in other listings, mostly where authors have attempted to line up their information with that in Strassburger. This work Source Bibliography: STRASSBURGER, RALPH BEAVER. Pennsylvania German Pioneers: A Publication of the Original Lists of Arrivals in the Port of Philadelphia from 1727 to 1808. Perhaps someday in Pennsylvania a marriage record will surface so that we will learn who Christopher married. He might have been near 20 years of age when he landed or perhaps older.

Some have mentioned the name Robert on a Pennsylvania census, but this author has yet to locate it. These names are also mentioned in a book titled "History of Morgan County Indiana". [1] Of course my home page is at Marion Indiana [2]

Could have been the father of Robert J Confildt and Isaac Coonfield and possibly a David Coonfield found in New York. Christopher may have had many children yet to be discovered, as the name seems to have been altered. Often times the census taker spelled it differently for many reasons, perhaps due to their "accent" or perhaps the person did not read nor write so it just did not matter. Then there is the transcriber who may not be able to understand a blurred, very old, document.

David may have been the spouse of the Amelia Coonfield found on the 1850 NY census, but she was so young, perhaps a second spouse or no connection at all.

Isaac was on the 1800 Kentucky Tax List, 1810 and 1820 Henry County KY census

1810 CENSUS LISTED IN HENRY CO, NEW CASTLE, KENTUCKY

ISAAC COONFIELD HAD 2 MALES UNDER 10 YEARS
1 MALE 27-40 (HIMSELF AS HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD) so his date of birth could be 1770.
2 FEMALES UNDER 10 YEARS
1 FEMALE 27-40 (WIFE OF HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD)

Isaac might have married Barsheba Clark in Pennsylvania before their migration. Barsheba and her sons moved to Indiana by the 1830 census so she must be widowed by this time.

In 1810 New York, David Coonfield has five sons and five daughters, and David could be 50 - 60 years of age so he may be a son of Christopher. Amelia Coonfield was born 1789 and could not have been the mother of those children, yet she might have been one of those children. However, Amelia could have been his daughter in law......

Two John Coonfields have been located, born 1794 and 1796, so at least one of them could be a brother to Isaac and one his son. Some of the grandchildren found on census show birthplace as Iowa so some of them explored the Iowa Territory before settling into Indiana. Big UHOH here is that the Ia on the census might represent Indiana < scratching head >

Barsheba's son Isaac Benjamin Coonfield born 1808 Kentucky married Lydia Epperson who died young, then he married her sister, Mary Epperson. Lydia gave him a son, named Benjamin Wylie Coonfield who served in the Civil War.

There was trouble on the farm in Indiana and bankruptcy was needed. Parts of the land were sold off. Ben bought land in Arkansas in 1856 and that is the only land record found for this family, thus far.

Wylie married Martha Frances Young and named a son Benjamin Wallace Coonfield who married Lattie Cedonia Little in Arkansas, but her family came from Kentucky.

Lattie's daughter Luella Coonfield married Frank Delbert Cochran in 1914.[[Media: http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Family:Frankie_Cochran_and_Anne_Carter_%281%29]]

Luella Coonfield and Frank Cochran are found on the 1920 census near many other Coonfields in Chelsea, Rogers County, Oklahoma near Will Rogers.

Luella's son Frankie ended up in Alabama[ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kc90853/Cochran.html]
