This marriage is not proven. However, a review of all women named Sarah Ives in the Ricker Compilation of Connecticut Vital Records, born between 1741 and 1761, shows that this Sarah is the only one not identified with a husband or having died unmarried prior to 1777 by Mr. Jacobus. The age of Sarah Ives Merriman at death is consistent with a birth in 1752. Cheshire and Southington are adjacent towns.
