Family:Charles McClain and Lorena Bozeman (1)

Charles Allen McClain was born in 1886 Ramer Alabama to Elizabeth Broadway and Josiah Marion McClain. His two sisters born before him died young so he was an only child.

Elizabeth's parents were Mary Stephens and Abner Broadway, both born in Alabama to families who had migrated from South Carolina.

Josiah's parents were "Anna" and James McClain of Georgia, who's families had migrated from South Carolina. The parents of James were Nancy Wood and Josiah McClain - Josiah was the son of Elizabeth Moon and Charles McClain of Virginia 1750s and her father Gideon Moon had been a patriot offering supplies to the American Revolution. Charles McClain might have come from the McClains of Pennsylvania.

The Broadways and Stephens also had grandfathers who served in the American Revolution in South Carolina.
