They were married in Guthrie center in 1862 and Susan was about 19 years younger than CF. CF was a wealthy grain trader with his brother Augustus in Chicago before the Civil War. He got involved with railroads and grain elevators and CF and Susan ended up in Southern Oregon after following the railroad construction west. They lived in Chicago, Macon, Mo., and Thayer, Nebraska along the way. CF was the lead surveyor for the railroad over the Siskiyou mountains into Northern California which became part of the Southern Pacific and now the Union Pacific. He died in about 1890 in Ashland, Oregon. [Duane Stair - Frizell descendant]
