1880 Census

Charles (age 24) and Abbie (age 26) Dodge are living in Boothbay Harbor with daughter Gertrude E, who is 1. Charles Dodge is a plasterer, and was unemployed for three months in the previous year. For source citation see Person:Charles Dodge (3).

1900 Census

Twenty years later, Charles (age 44) and Abbie (age 46) are still living in Boothbay Harbor. The census indicates they married in about 1877, and that they only have had one child, Gertrude, who is still living at home. Charles is a brick mason. Daughter Gertrude (age 19) appears to be working as a music teacher, although the handwriting is not very legible. Another Dodge family is several houses away: Frederick (age 42) and Florence [Richards][2] (age 36) Dodge have been married for nine years but have no children. Frederick is a grocer. They have a boarder, Victoria Dodge, age 81 and widowed, who is also a music teacher. It seems likely that Victoria and Gertrude worked together. For source citation see Person:Charles Dodge (3).

1910 Census
