  1. The probate of Thankful's father in 1785 pays a heir's share to Thankful Stearns wife of Bezaleel Stearns. Note that Source:Van Wagenen, Avis Stearns. Genealogy and Memoirs of Isaac Stearns and His Descendants, p. 77, says that Bezaleel Stearns, "known, or supposed to be" son of John Stearns and Deliverance Bigelow m. (int.) Oct. 1749 Thankful Davis "both of Grafton". This intention does not seem to be in any published vital records, so it cannot be verified. There is almost no other information on Bezaleel given, so I can only assume the name of the prospective bride was misread, being more likely, probably, than having two different wives, both named Thankful. Bezaleel lived in the Gore, unincorprated area (see this story about his house burning down), and other than a probate in 1801 in the Index to Worcester Probate that is possibly his (at this time, the actual files for the part of the alphabet after K are not available), nothing is known.
