He returned to Ireland to complete his sevice,was promoted to Corporal on 21st Feb 1880 and to Sergeant on the 6th of September 1882.
On the 8th of April 1884 his wife Louisa gave birth to Lillian Agnes Louisa at Cork Barracks.
