Amiel and Ida were married by Rev. P. F. Veniard. Their witnesses were Ludovicus Urbine and Elmira Gladieux.

Amiel was a farmer in Jefferson Township in Allen County, Indiana, an Allen County Sheriff and a real estate agent.

Amiel's obituary reads, "GLADIEUX FUNERAL MONDAY - Last Rites for Former Sherif to be at 2 P.M. at Residence - Funeral services for Amiel C. Gladieux, aged 66, ex-Sheriff of Allen County, who died early Friday, will be held at 2 p.m. at the residence, 209 West Woodland Avenue, with the Rev. Joseph Green, of the Precious Blood Catholic Church, officiating. Burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at New Haven. Pallbearers will be Louis Centlivre, Charles Young, William J. Snyder, Theron P. Weaver, Judge Charles J. Ryan and Clem Lanternier. The body will be returned to the home this afternoon from Mongovan & Sons' Mortuary." [Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, Saturday 15 June 1935, pg. 2]

In 1938, after Amiel's death, Ida lived at 305 E. Foster Parkway in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Ida's obituary reads, "Mrs. Ida J. Gladieux, 89, a resident of Fort Wayne most of her life, died at 4:45 a.m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leo Weber, of Grand View Beach, Lake George, Mich., following an extended illness. Mrs. Gladieux was a resident of Fort Wayne most of her life. Her husband, the late Amiel C. Gladieux, was a former sheriff of Allen County. He died in 1945. Surviving are a son, Clarence A. Gladieux, Fort Wayne; two other daughters, Mrs. Viola Patten, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Blanche J. Smith, New York; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Mungovan & Sons Mortuary. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at New Haven. Friends may call at the mortuary after 7 p.m. today." They are both buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in New Haven, Indiana.
