    Vol. 1, p. 150.

Amasa Cobb of Fabius State of New York entered his intention of Marriage with Eunice Petty of this town. } Feb. 5th 1803.

  2. Allred, p. 31, 210, identifies Amasa, s/o Josiah, as the husband, presumably on the assumption that he probably needs a connection to Warwick to marry a girl from there. However, she has no identification of Eunice. The family of Reuben Petty or Warwick appears to be relatively well-known and has no daughter named Eunice. He removed to Northfield. Source:Temple, Josiah Howard. History of the Town of Northfield, Massachusetts, for 150 Years, p. 515, covers some of the Petty families of Northfield. One promising entry mentions Ebenezer Petty, s/o Joseph, b. 1756 who married a woman named Eunice and removed to Orange. He would be suspected to have a daughter named Eunice probably of age to marry in 1803. There is nothing in the records of Orange. The 1790 census shows an Ebenezer Petty in Orange (1 male, 4 females), and in 1800 he appears to be living in Warwick (though he is named as head of a household that has no male over 10 listed in it). So everything suggests this might be a good candidate even though nothing concrete is known.
