Family:Alva Foland and Ella McConnell (1)

They had eight children. Ella died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 41. Alva operated a saw mill, also a threshing machine business for 52 years. Both are buried at Wheelis cemetery. Children are: Mertie Foland, b. 1892 m. Arthur Davis, b. 1886; Orval Ferrin Foland, b. 1895, d. 1968 m.1919 to Fern Weldon and they lived in CA, IA & MN; Belva P. Foland b. 1899, m. 1917 to Demmerre V.Cox, b. 1896 and lived in Van Wert; Eva Irene Foland, b. 1903 m. 1920 to Robert Beardsley in Denver Co.; Carrie M. Foland, b. 1906, m. 1930 to Karl Kraft of Independence IA; Bernice Leverta Foland, b. 1909 m. 1927 to Roy Raymond Frost, b. 1905, d. 1979; Lloyd Harlan Foland, b. 1911 m. & div. Ella Glazebrook of Grand River; Cloyd V. Foland, b. 1914 m. 1936 to Ada Bette Moore.
