The will of Person:Samuel Walker (55) was written 8-28 (following text is transcribed "twenty Eight Day of october") October 1797, and probated July 1798. It identifies:

wife Elenor

Grandson: Samuel Walker

Grandson:James Walker

Daughter Elisabeth Cob and

Daughter Jean King and

Son James Walker

Daughter Augnes Orr

Daughter Elinor Walker

One of the witnesses was "Henry Cob", who is probably the father of Elizabeth Walker's husband, Noah Cobb. The bequests to the two grandsons may reflect a predeased son, otherwize unidentified in the will.

In the name of god Amain -

I Samuel Walker of the County of Causwell in State of North Carolina being sick and weak of body but of sound and presend mind and memory blised bi god do this twenty Eight Day of october in the year of lord Christ Seventeen hundred and Ninty Seven make and ordain this present Writing to be my last will and testement hereby Rivocking and making void all my former wills - first. I recomend my soul to god hoping through the merits of my blesed lord to [word crossed out] obtain a pardon for all my sins and an Inharetance amongst the blest above. Second I Commit my body to the dust to be burred at the discreation of my surviving frends and as for what worldy Estate its hath pleased god to bless me with I will and bequth in the following manner Viz Item I Will and bequth to my beloved wife Elenor Walker all my houses lands orchets household forniture mill horses and cattle and all my property Enduring hir Natural life and when it shall please god to deprate hir soul from hir body and her body decontaly laid in the dust what property may then be found I lafe and dispose of in the following manner ..(unreadable)

First I will and bequth to

my two beloved Grand Sons Samuel Walker and James Walker

the land that I now live apon containing two hundred acer be the same more or less togeth with all my houses ...(unreadable) orchets midows mills woods and water courses to be Equaly Devided between them to them and their hiarrs for Ever - ...(unreadable)

Secontly the other propearty that may be found I will and bequth in the following manner the property I disire to be sold and the mony Divided among my five beloved Children and my will and pleasure is that

my beloved daughter Elisabeth Cob and

my daughter Jean King and

my beloved son tur over (the page ends) James Walker

may have a double part to what

my other two beloved daughters may have viz - Augnes Orr and Elinor Walker -
