The Last Will of Andrew Cowan Decd Admitted to record July Term / 76.

Andrew Cowan being of sound mind and memory and knowing the uncertainty of life and the uncertainty of death do make and publish this as my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made,

And first it is my will and desire that I be decently interred, and as soon thereafter as possible that my executor pay all of my just debts out of any money that I may do[?] possessed of or may first come unto his hands.

And secondly I give and bequeath to my daughter Susan E Moore and her heirs a certain portion of my old homestead farm including the house or home Residents where her and her husband now lives to embrace[?] a certain boundary which I have marked out it being the East and of the place or farm. And third it is will and desire that my Executor, after giving all necessary notices in such case sell the remainder of my old Homestead farm to the highest bidder upon a credit of Six or Twelve months, as he may think best and proper, provided, however that I do not bill or sipose of the same during my natural life. And should I sell or dispose of the same it is to be expressly understood that it is in no way what ever to effect my will or bequests, And I do further will and bequeath to my daughter, Nancy Gray, Twelve Hundred Dollars, provided however, that her husband William M Gray pays to me or my Executors the amount due me from him for which I hold his notes if not Twelve Hundred Dollars of said amount is to be considered as already paid or advanced by me. I do further will and bequeath to my daughter Sarah's two children, William & Ida Six Hundred Dollars each. I have already given to my son Joseph R. Cowan his portion of my estate, except my black smith tools, which it is my desire that he shall have and it is further my will and desire, that my two sons Rob. H & Joseph R. Cowan have my farming tools & gearing and that they divide them between themselves except my wheat farm cutton? box and Harrow, which will to my son in law E. M. P. Moore. And it is further my will and desire that should there be any balance or remainder after satisfying the above bequests, that it be equally divided between my son Robt. H. Cowan, my daughter Nancy Gray, & my daughter, Sarah two children equally.

And lastly it is will and desire that my son in law E. M. P. Moore act as my Executor and I do hereby appoint him as such In witness whereof I Andrew Cowan the Testator do set my hand and seal this 19th of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & Sixty Nine.
