Source:Summers, 1903 and Source:Summers, 1929 provide a synthetic roster of the privates who were on Christian's Cherokee Expedition of 1776. The "roster" was recreated from miscellaneous sources which Summers did not specify, but which are thought to be unit rosters. The 1903 list includes 220 men who served as privates, vice the 1600 to 1800 men which some sources suggest were on the campaign. Summers lists, therefore, are highly incomplete, accounting for something like less than 20% of the enlisted men taking part in the campaign. There may also be some duplication of persons, particularly in the 1903 version of this list; the 1929 version has a total of 198 men, with no explanation as to the difference between it and the 1903 version. A good fraction of the men missing in 1929 are from men whose name appeared twice on the 1903 list. It may be that Summers concluded that these duplications did in fact represent the same men, and scrubbed them from the 1929 list.

The version below has been alphabetized, and does not preserve Summers original order. It has been suggsted that Summers may have entered individuals into this list by copying specific rosters, so that persons adjacent to each other probably served in the same unit.
