WeRelate talk:Overview committee/14 Jul 2013

Comment requested [16 July 2013]

I would appreciate the views of the oversight committee on my proposal for an "in the news" section on the Main Page here: WeRelate_talk:Watercooler#.27in_the_news.27_.5B22_June_2013.5D. Is this worth working on and if so, what would need to be demonstrated in order to get approval? Thanks AndrewRT 17:25, 26 June 2013 (EDT)

The Overview Committee discussed this during our last meeting. We think an "in the news" section on the main page is a great idea! It can replace the current volunteer opportunities section. We did want to ensure there will be enough volunteers to maintain the section regularly. When new news items are posted, they are posted to WeRelate:Current news rather than editing the main page directly. When you are ready to start, just let me know and we can rename that Current news page. --Jennifer (JBS66) 12:29, 16 July 2013 (EDT)
Thanks Jennifer. I'd like to take this forward step by step because, as you say, it's important that we establish that we have that critical mass of volunteers working on the idea before it goes too far. Many thanks for your support and I will see if I can get it up and running. AndrewRT 18:35, 16 July 2013 (EDT)
