WR page conventions [28 January 2014]

Hi, and welcome to WeRelate. I was reviewing some of your recent pages and noticed a few issues. WR has guidelines and conventions for entering information, for example:

  1. Family:Willie Campbell and Alberta Campbell (1) and Person:Alberta Campbell (1): Maiden names for women should be entered in the Surname field, not their married name. For the pages where you have entered married names, such as Alberta's page, please edit the pages to move the maiden name to the surname field and delete the married name. Then, rename the Person and Family pages (by clicking Rename in the menu on the left) to replace the married name with her maiden name.
  2. Pages for living people may not be created. Please ensure that any pages you've added are for people who are deceased. If you have created a page for a living person, please delete it by clicking on More>Delete
  3. Pages such as Family:Mr Phifer and Mrs Phifer (1). Please leave the given name blank when adding new pages rather than using the terms Mr or Mrs. Following WR convention, the Phifer page would be titled Family:Unknown Phifer and Unknown.
  4. Jr or Sr should be placed in the suffix field, not the surname field. When added new pages, please only enter the surname in the surname field.

Kindly review your recent contributions to address the above mentioned items (ie, removing Mr and Mrs, placing maiden names in the surname fields, moving Jr and Sr to the suffix field, and renaming pages to include only first and last (maiden) names.) If you have any questions, you can post here, I'll be sure to watch this talk page. Thank you --Jennifer (JBS66) 12:29, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
