Berry [25 May 2010]

Hi.

My name is Mike Berry. I was doing some research for my family tree and I happened upon your page, and noticed you had details of my grandparents (Ernest & Edith Berry) and one of their sons, who is my father (Brian Berry). I haven't used this site before, and only registered so that I could send you this message.

I would be very interested if you have any other family information regarding my relatives.

Thanks,

Mike.--Mjb1962 18:40, 25 May 2010 (EDT)

Editing pages [5 August 2011]

Think I've edited the pages correctly; have input Fred Moon, rather than Vallance as he looks out of running!

Not easy to edit; but get the hang of it after a while; not intuitive!

HERBERT & ARTHUR FAIRBANK [26 October 2011]

Hi, My name is Pam Bishop Tackett and my great grandpa was Arthur or William Arthur Fairbank(s) as some say, and his brother Herbert was my great uncle. What I have is Arthur born Mar 1872 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire - West Riding, and Herbert Fairbank (s) born Mar 1870 Sowerby Bridge, York, England. They came over to America I believe in 1891-92 or so. They lived for a short time in Ohio where Herbert & his wife had 4 children and then Herbert & Emily moved to Michigan. Some how Herbert & Arthur lost touch with each other. I don't think they ever spoke or met again after Herbert & family moved to Michigan.

Arthur died 18 Apr 1923 in Hensley, Wyoming county, West Virginia, USA due to a coal mine accident. He married Johnnie Estel Phillips 03 May 1906, at J.S. Hohnsons House, Bell County Kentucky, USA. Together they had 7 children. They lived in West Virginia. One of their children, Pearl Marie Fairbanks Bishop was my grandmother.

Herbert married Emily Davidson in England I think around 1891 maybe. They had 6 children. I found them in the 1910 Greenfield, Wayne County, Michigan census. Again in the 1920 & 1930 Detroit, Wayne county, Michigan census. Herbert listed shoe maker as his occupation. I think I also think the family went back to England 1912.

From some of the stories told they had a sister named Edith and maybe more siblings. We just don't know who their parents were. On Arthur's death cert. it had parents unknown. I can't find a death for Herbert or Emily but think he either died after 1935 here or maybe went back to England? We find both boys listed with Sykes & Tweedale families in the 1881 England census.

I am really hoping that mine are the same Herbert & Arthur as yours! Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you! Pam--Pjtackett 19:54, 26 October 2011 (EDT)
