I now agree that Ann BARTLETT 1m CHINN, 2m HALL. Ann was 15, almost 16, when they married. Here are two Loudoun Co, VA records that bracket Christopher CHINN's birth to 1760-61:

Loudoun Co, VA; Court [OB-F:p540]: 10 Apr 1775: Christopher CHINN and orphan of Elijah CHINN being of proper age came into Court and made chose of Charles CHINN for his Guardian in the room of Francis PEYTON, with William BRONAUGH and Willaim ELLZEY as securities and 1,000 pounds bond. [NB: Christopher age 14-20; or born 1755-1761; probably the younger range, so perhaps b 1760]

Loudoun Co, VA; Guardian Accts [OB-G:p229]; 13 Mar 1780: Christopher CHINN came into Court and made choice of Thomas BARTLETT for his Guardian who with William ELLZEY and Nathaniel WEEDON his securities entered bond of 50,000 pounds. [NB: Christopher CHINN age 14-20; so b 1760-1766; so b 1760][NB: this is just 3 months after Christopher married Ann - I believe she was pregnant, and they eloped; I think her oldest brother, William, did the same thing about 5 years earlier]

It now appears that Christopher and Ann CHINN must have moved to KY, soon after selling their land in Loudoun Co, VA in 1784. Then Christopher died in 1786 [per his brother's affidavit, but his brother incorrectly Christopher died in Loudoun Co]. This is the only way I can see how Ann and her three children, all under 10, got to KY, where they grew up and married. I am making a calculated guess that Ann met and married Thomas HALL, soon after, and they started their family, in Nelson Co, later moving to Montgomery Co, where they were in the 1820 and 1830 census. RE: Christopher Chinn Records above & Thomas Bartlett/Anne Settle mixup [30 June 2013]

Since I was not watching this specific talk page, I had not seen these 2 records that you posted above for Christopher Chinn until I stumbled upon them today. I have added them to the other records on his page as supporting evidence. I do agree with your theories of an elopement or possibly even a "shot gun wedding" across the state line in Maryland for Christopher Chinn and Anne Bartlett since they were both so young. I wonder what became of their 2 children who became wards of Walker Baylor following Christopher's death?

Also, I will work on straightening out the Thomas Bartlett page that was inadvertently connected to Anne Settle via what appears to be a drive-by gedcom dump last May. You may be getting some notices in your email as I straighten it out. Thank you for posting your information on that situation. Best Wishes! --Cos1776 13:38, 30 June 2013 (EDT)

Cos1776 - I have compiled the long list of records through continuous research since 1974. Each one starts with a dash "-". If you send me an email (to jim4bartletts@verizon.net), I can send you a Word doc with those records; and a long list for his father, Thomas BARTLETT c1705-1783 of Richmond Co, vA Are you related to this line? I have a growing list of folks who have taken Y-DNA, mtDNA and recently over 15 folks who have taken autosomal DNA (atDNA) tests that are proving all the blood lines so far. Thanks for all you are doing to get this documented properly. I'm working on the LDS FamilySearch Tree to do the same - a lot of bad info being copied out there.
