Information on Cleo Estelle King [26 October 2010]

Hello, I noticed the change you made to Cleo King that married Claude Raymond Zent, changing her date of death to "aft. 2010". Are you aware that she is still alive? This would make her at least 101 years old, and the information I received from my relatives is that she passed away prior to 2004. Would appreciate whatever information you have to corroborate your date. My grandmother was Claude Raymond Zent's sister.

Thanks much,

Jim Volunteer Administrator on WeRelate--Delijim 18:53, 26 October 2010 (EDT)

Yes, Cleo King Zent is still alive, she turned 101 years old on April 9, 2010. I am her grandson Kevin, my father is Bill, Cleo & Claude's oldest son. This would make you kind of a cousin?--Dentltek 19:04, 26 October 2010 (EDT)

Yes, that would make us cousins:) I just googled Cleo and found the Congressional Record tribute to her, which I've added to her page. Technically, we should probably delete her page, but we can leave it up, if it's OK with you.

I've already added the Zent family lineage to this site, so feel free to add info on the King family, if you want to.

Best regards,

Jim

Thanks Jim...I just discovered this site the other day, I'm looking forward to exploring it some more when I have time. Somewhere at home I have a hard copy of the Zent family lineage going way back, I'll have to compare it to what is on here. As far as the King side of the family, I learned a lot about them as I made a video for her 100th B-Day, using pictures going back as far as Cleo's grandfather in the 1850s.--Dentltek 19:45, 26 October 2010 (EDT)

I found some information on the King side, from familysearch.org and added some of it, you might want to verify what I've entered and add whatever documentation, records, photographs, etc. that you have. If there's any tips you need, let me know.

Best regards,

Jim:)

Image Licensing [27 October 2010]

Hello, I am a volunteer admin and it's my job to help people learn the system. You asked for help licensing your images. I can't license your images but I can give your guidance. There are numerous licensing options, but most images fall into one of these categories:

  • Original published in US before 1923
  • Low resolution copy of an historical photograph. (When you reduce the image before upload, the resolution is reduced. This works for most family pictures.)
  • Snippet of historical document
  • Work of US government--Public domain
  • If you took the picture, select the CC-BY-SA
  • If you know the photographer, get written permission.

Hope this helps. Please be aware that images left in the "Help needed" category for longer than two weeks will be deleted. If you have any more question please leave me a message. :)--sq 23:08, 27 October 2010 (EDT)

Good Job [28 October 2010]

I noticed the photos you added, nicely done. Now you can add some narrative on their lives. Try to use Headings for different subject headings to organize, like this:

Land Records

Will of Barnabus King

Military Records

Biography of Barnabus King

Research question [29 October 2010]

Hi Kevin, regarding your question, I'd get a subscription to Ancestry.com for your research. They seem to have the most resources to draw from, and it's pretty easy to search their sources on-line...

Hope that helps.

Good luck,

Jim:)--Delijim 16:08, 29 October 2010 (EDT)
