I've finally got a chance to check this out.... [21 June 2008]

Hi, Mom's gone and I've got a chance to look at some of this. It's still a bit confusing, but I'll figure it out.--Camiorme 01:19, 21 June 2008 (EDT)

Well, this part works! I got the message that you left. I hope this will be a way to work together.--Cynthianielsen 09:13, 21 June 2008 (EDT)

What I've figured out [21 June 2008]

I think I might have figured out how you can have everyone be able to access the same tree.

Every person can have a User page. On my user page I have entered in some Surnames that I'm researching, etc. Your User page has nothing on it.

If you go under My relate, dashboard, this is your behind the scenes of your account. If you click on View Network I should be in there and you can look at my user page.

On the left hand side I've made two trees, one starting with me and the other starting with Heath. If you click on my tree you can see who I'm connected to.

You could probably do this with your user page. If you have created a tree (I think we were having a hard time remembering what you named it) then you can add it to your User page. In the dashboard under Profile and Messages, click Edit by View your profile. You can add Surnames you are interested in.

If in the dashboard area you have nothing under "Trees" then you probably have not made a tree.

This probably doesn't make sense, but maybe something I've put here is new to you.

William Nathaniel Budge Shepherd [8 September 2010]

I am a descendent of Nathaniel John Shepherd, and I have a photo album of pictures from my Grandmother's house, I do not know who they are, but I've been doing some looking on ancestory and I think I've kind of figured out who some of them are, which I have linked to the Shepherd family. Most were taken around the 1900's Several of the pictures have "WNB Shepherd studio" on them. I was wondering if you might know who some of the people were...I could scan and email the pictures to you. Please let me know. Debra Frehner df5@byu.edu--Debrafrehner 15:35, 8 September 2010 (EDT)

Lucinda Justina Best [23 February 2014]

Good evening!

I have been trying to learn more about the side of my family that includes Harriet Amelia Morehead (3rd Gr Grandmother) and Lucinda Justina Best (2nd Gr Grandmother.)I noticed that you cite a family record from May 14th, 1852 and I was so excited to see that. Could it be that you have records that relevant to my family?

I would be most appreciative if you would reach out when you have a moment. I am happy to share any information that I have that may be of help. (I do have a copy of Lucinda's obit from the Grand Rapids Herald. Her death date is 12/27/1931. Obit is from 12/30/1931. Happy to share if you don't already have.)

I hope to hear from you soon!

Adrienne Hall (Paternal Grandmother- Betty Jane Morse | Gr Grandfather- Elwin Franklin Morse | 2nd Gr Grandfather- Benjamin Franklin Morse (m. Lucinda Justina Best)--Yoandi4 04:35, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Living individuals not allowed [22 February 2018]

Hi

As you are probably aware, WeRelate has a policy against allowing pages for living individuals. In order to reinforce that policy, it is desirable that we have no pages that say "Living". Therefore, I am in the process of removing or updating all pages that say "Living".

You can help by addressing pages you created and:

  • enter death information for individuals who are deceased
  • delete pages for individuals who are still living
  • add the speedy delete template ({{Speedy Delete|reason|date}}) to pages for living individuals when you cannot delete the page yourself (which happens when someone else is watching the page)

If you would like a certain amount of time (say, a month or two) to address your pages, please let me know and I will not start deleting them right away. Usually, I attempt to do some minimal online research to see if I can find death information for people born before 1930, but I can't promise that my efforts are always effective. Therefore, if you would like to preserve pages for people you know to be deceased, you should update them yourself.

It is possible to link pages for deceased persons to other pages without keeping a page for a living individual. If you would like help with this, please let me know.

Thank you for contributing to WeRelate.--DataAnalyst 23:49, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

Mullis Surname History [28 September 2018]

Cynthia,

As a "watcher", you are the only person I could find to contact on this posting re: Thomas, George, Frank Mullis, with information about origins of the Mullis surname in England. Mention is made of a "family rumor that Mullis originated with Wm. the Conqueror."

That is definitely true, not a rumor. I thoroughly researched that in my book, Wm. A. Mullies, "A Documented History of the Mullis Surname in England: 1053-1660; in Colonial America: 1658-1790." (Texas:2014). I donated copies to Devon Family Center, Exeter, Genealogical Society and also British Library, London.

Email me for a chronological synopsis of the surname's history in England. I would appreciate it if you would contact others who would find this history of interest.

Sincerely,

Arthur

P.S. Mullies is a variant spelling used interchangeably with Mullys, Mulles, and Mullis from as early as 1585 in Michaelstow Parish, Cornwall Co.--Art Mullies 15:26, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
