For Government and Church records, the standard titles on WeRelate should be in the format Place. Title. In this case, I believe Loftahammer is the place, so the title would be: Source:Loftahammar, Kalmar, Sweden. Kyrkoarkiv Is this, by any chance, the same source as Source:Loftahammar, Kalmar, Sweden. If you have made up your mind about how the sources are named I'll have to follow your rules. I'm not sure about the description in the source you mentioned, though. I see the source you link to seems to point to microfilmed archive volumes. In Sweden there are three different companies (SVAR, Genline/Ancestry & Arkiv Digital) that supply researchers with online digitized records, parts of church archives. Shouldn't the source be the actual original documents or are each set of duplicates in different media all meant to be different sources!? To add to those three I think it still is possible to get the microfilms or microfische. The original volumes are listed in the National Archival Database of Sweden. The actual name of the archive in this case is Loftahammars kyrkoarkiv (http://www.nad.ra.se/). --crex 17:51, 19 October 2011 (EDT) I might add that the time range 1663-1900 probably isn't right either. Nowadays we have records or will soon have records up to 1940. --crex 17:56, 19 October 2011 (EDT) Here is our help for source page titles. Let me explain by way of example. Source:Baarn, Utrecht, Netherlands. Burgerlijke Stand is a page for the birth, marriage, and death records for Baarn, Netherlands. That source is available in multiple Repositories: (FHC has the microfilms, FamilySearch has the scanned images, Digitale Stamboom has a searchable index). One Source page is created, and multiple repositories can be listed on that page. Now, when I first started on WR, all of the Burgerlijke Stand pages were titled Registers van der Burgerlijke Stand. This is not how they are commonly referred to in the Netherlands. These sources were automatically imported from FamilySearch's database, and the titles may not be 100% accurate. The date ranges from FS will also be inaccurate since they are based upon when they scanned the books. WR has over 3500 Source pages with Kyrkoböcker in the title. I wouldn't want to recreate pages if Kyrkoböcker and kyrkoarkiv are essentially the same thing. I went to this page: Source:Loftahammar, Kalmar, Sweden. Kyrkoböcker, 1663-1900, clicked on the familysearch.org... link, then clicked on View Film Notes. If I compare that information to the page on http://www.nad.ra.se for Loftahammar kyrokoarkiv - they appear to be the same thing. FS calls the first item Husförhörslängd, the Nationell ArkivDatabas calls it Husförhörslängder, but even the date ranges for the books match up. So... rather than creating a new source page, we could decide to rename the WR source to something more accurate for your country. Also, you could add links on the existing source page for the Nationell ArkivDatabas and any other Repository where one could find these records. Also, we can delete the publication information that refers to FamilySearch as well as the FHL film numbers on that source page. Are these the correct links for the three archive companies in Sweden?
I can start by creating Repository pages on WR for them if they don't already exist. Not just microfilm. The URL:s seems to be right (for the international pages). Feel free to add the repos if you like. I switched the Source on one page and now it says - Födelse- och dopböcker, in Svenska kyrkan. Loftahammar socken. Kyrkoböcker, 1663-1900. (Salt Lake City, Utah: Filmat för the Genealogical Society of Utah av Rekolid, 1953-1974), C:7 / 39, 1869-1883. The part in parantheses is from the sources citation. I would rather get rid of that, as it isn't proper for my source. How do we get that information right for 3500 sources? And how do we get the Publication information right. I think it is important that these sources uses the same naming and description convention because you find them in every parish. While we discuss sources. I added Sveriges Dödbok 1901-2009 (Death Index on DVD). I assume that is also incorrect and it should be something like Sweden. Sveriges Dödbok 1901-2009!? --crex 12:50, 20 October 2011 (EDT) Regarding the citation that displayed on Person:Karl Kihlström (2): the source citations that appear on Person/Family pages are generated from the fields on the source page. The source page itself will show what the citation will look like under Citation. I went to the Source:Loftahammar, Kalmar, Sweden. Kyrkoböcker, 1663-1900 page and deleted the FHL references (specifically, Publisher, Date issued, Place issued and the list of FHL films in the text box). I did keep the FHC as a repository - we need to keep that. To remove the inaccurate date range, the Source page would need to be renamed (at which point you could change the Kyrkoböcker to Kyrkoarkiv if that is how most genealogists researching Swedish roots would know it by). Also, since the place is listed in the title at the beginning, we don't need to duplicate it: so, we would do Source:Loftahammar, Kalmar, Sweden. Kyrkoarkiv not Source:Loftahammar, Kalmar, Sweden. Loftahammar Kyrkoarkiv. You asked how we get this right for 3500 sources... well, it gets done slowly, over time. I rename the Burgerlijke Stand source pages as I need them or when I want a project to work on. There are a small number of Swedish users on WR (one just uploaded a gedcom today), so opportunities for collaboration may exist. From what I can tell, the Sveriges Dödbok is a resource that has multiple volumes (nr 1 1968–1996, nr 2, 1950–1999, etc). You could create one source page for each CD, but it may be preferable to create one source Source:Sweden. Sveriges Dödbok and list each volume there. Then, when you reference this source on a Person/Family page, you can indicate which volume you found the information in. WR now has 3 source pages: Source:Sveriges Dödbok 1901-2009, Source:Sveriges Släktforskarförbund. Sveriges Dödbok 1950-1999, and Source:Sveriges Dödbok, 1968-1996. If you want to take the single source approach, I can merge these three into one page. On another note, we have Category:Language templates if you are interested in adding one to your User page - though it looks like I'll need to make a set for Swedish. Maybe there are also spellings in english used ... I will not change the source titles now. Maybe later. I'm not sure what is best to use. The source on the display page doesn't show* the source as you mentioned when I changed it, but that is perhaps OK anyway ... It might just be how it is registered, not how it looks ...
--crex 15:37, 20 October 2011 (EDT) I'm not sure that I understand your question 100%. The Västra Ed source on Person:Karolina Kihlström (1) shows Svenska kyrkan. Västra Ed socken. Kyrkoböcker, 1625-1896 as well as the additional information you added to the Record name, Volume, and Date fields. On the source page itself, Source:Västra Ed, Kalmar, Sweden. Kyrkoböcker, 1625-1896, the same Svenska kyrkan. Västra Ed socken. Kyrkoböcker, 1625-1896 text appears in the blue box under the word Citation. Just to finish up on the above topics: I merged the Source:Sweden. Sveriges Dödbok, of course you should feel free to edit it or add text in Swedish. I created the new repository pages which can all be found on the Source:Loftahammar, Kalmar, Sweden. Kyrkoböcker, 1663-1900 page. I may not have correctly determined the availability for each repository. Do you mind if I now delete the Source:Loftahammars kyrkoarkiv and Source:Västra Eds kyrkoarkiv pages?
