Cowans Gap Origin data [12 May 2011]

Ceez, I noticed you made a change on the YDNA. Cowan Groups. While I think your change is probably accurate (I doubt that we know where this particular line originated), its what the person taking the YDNA test put down. The data shown here is extracted and reorganized based on the information that the owner of that particular kit put down. The data shown is periodically updated, and what's here today will most likely be replaced shortly. Unless the owner (who may be you) changes the entry in the Cowan YDNA page, it will revert more or less automatically to whatever is there at the time of the update. That applies to the lineage data as well. Q 15:04, 12 May 2011 (EDT)

Thinking about this a bit further, there may be a need to create a file containing family history and other information that is NOT updated when the analysis is run again. I frequently have more information available to me than is given on FTDNA Cowan Project, and it might be useful to incorporte that information. Would make for a programming problem, but perhaps that can be handled easily enough. Have to think about it. Q 16:50, 12 May 2011 (EDT)
