Hello [4 February 2011]

Hi, I am noticing your additions to the Hemond family. I'm wondering how you are related. Henri Paul was my husband's great uncle. --Jennifer (JBS66) 13:51, 3 February 2011 (EST)

Henri Paul was my grandfather, he just passed away last week. I am trying to do some research on our family tree. What is your husbands name?--Ange91678 13:54, 3 February 2011 (EST)

I am sorry for your loss. It's unfortunate that we weren't able to attend his funeral, but the weather would have made the trip difficult. My husband's name is John Swart (son of John and Jeanne). I have quite a bit here on the Hemond line - though I've yet to add sources... --Jennifer (JBS66) 14:03, 3 February 2011 (EST)

Thank you so much. He was a wonderful man, although i am a little partial! Yes i do know the name. I think that makes your mother in law, Gate's daughter? Am i correct? It is so hard to keep track of everyone. Both my gradparents on my mother's side have now passed and i started feeling like i wanted to know more about where i came from. I am new to this site so please forgive if i am not formatting correctly. I am at work and trying to multi task. I was going to read up on the tutorials another time. Any suggestions you may have are helpful? Did you create the pages for the Hemond Family? Do you know who did? I am also trying to research my grandmothers side as well (Paul's wife) but i am unable to locate anything on them. All i have are my great grandparents name but nothing comes up. I'll have to read more on the site itself! - Angela--Ange91678 14:11, 3 February 2011 (EST)

I met Paul at a few of the Hemond parties at Blackstone, he did seem like a wonderful man! Yes, Gaetan was my mother-in-law's father. Don't worry about the formatting - I've been around here for a while, and edits like that are just second nature to me. I did add all of the pages for the Hemond line, but I didn't do much research on Jeanette's line. I'll add in the few generations that I know of. WeRelate can take a little while to get the hang of - but feel free to ask me any questions if you run into difficulties. Now I know John is going to ask... which of Henri's daughters is your mother? --Jennifer (JBS66) 14:30, 3 February 2011 (EST)

Did you research Jeannette's side at all? Are there other sites on the internet that help you out? I am just so clueless when it comes to looking for genealogy, i wasn't sure how you would find information on her, especially since your husband is related on my pepere's side! I am Lucille's daughter. My aunt is Paulette. They both had two children. Lucille had two daughters, Dina and Angela and Paulette had a boy and a girl, Jamie and Jodie. The three others are married (i'm still waiting on the right one!! :))and my sister has one son, Liam, Pepere's first (and only for now) great-grandchild. I saw your in laws at the wake and i remembered their faces but i had no idea how they were related!!! :) We haven't gotten together with them in such a long time. I remember the parties that used to be on Gate's farm! Those were great...playing softball! Ever since that generation starting dying off, it seems we don't get together anymore. I talked to cousin Arthur at the funeral and he said that he and his wife were thinking about starting up the reunions again which i think would be great! There are so many members of our family that i have no idea who they are! Thanks again for all the help! Let me know if you find anything on Jeannette and if you need any help with names and dates. I know of all her sisters and brothers but then all i know of is her parents. i don't know anything further than that! Thanks! - Angela--Ange91678 15:28, 3 February 2011 (EST)

I haven't researched Jeannette's side. For resources, there are reputable sites and not so reputable... The not so reputable has information on her line here, but I would only use that as a guide. The better sites offer images of primary sources. The free one is FamilySearch. Their collection of images is expanding greatly. For Quebec records, the Ancestry Drouin collection can't be beat! However, that is a costly site and unfortunately I no longer have access to it. Some libraries offer free access, however. I'm not sure if you live anywhere near Woonsocket, but the American-French Genealogical Society is there - which is wonderful. For census records, Automated Genealogyis nice. They have the 1851, 1901, and 1911 censuses.

Uncle Art has been saying that for years now! We'll have to hold him to it before he does something drastic - like sell the farm! --Jennifer (JBS66) 16:10, 3 February 2011 (EST)

wow, thank you so much for all that information. Those look like some great sites! Hope you don't mind, i added in some dates of what i knew on my memere's brothers and sisters. I'll see if i can get more information on them tonight. It is just so hard to keep track of b/c each side has two sets, so it's like, how far do you go back, ya know! i just thought it was interesting enough that my pepere's last name originally started out as EMOND and then someone decided to add in an H, which was cool! Thanks so much for the help! Does anyone see this information of what we write other than you? I wanted to give you my personal info so we can chat more and didn't have to do it all on here but i didn't want everyone else to get it either!!! :) LOL Hope to talk soon! -Angela--Ange91678 16:38, 3 February 2011 (EST)

I don't mind you adding dates at all! That is what is great about this site - the ability to collaborate with others and share what you know. This talk page can be seen by anybody, and will also be found in Google searches. We can exchange email addresses - if you go to User:JBS66 and click on More>Email this user you can send me a message with your address, and I'll reply with mine. --Jennifer (JBS66) 10:47, 4 February 2011 (EST)
