Philip Ackerman 1796 - 1871 [27 February 2014]

Hello.

I am researching the family of George Ackerman, son of Philip and Lettie. Last night we (my husband and I) found several newspaper articles about how Philip died in NYC during the Orange Wars. I was wondering about the burial location you have for this couple. I couldn't find "Burbanks Cemetery" in Pleasantville, and was wondering if I have the spelling correct, and/or if you could tell me where this is physically.

George Ackerman married Henrietta Bailey, and they had a daughter Eldora. Eldora married Charles Wordell Bard. This couple is the great great grandparents of a customer of mine. (I have a genealogy business called "Finding Grandpa".)

We found the family in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 censuses. We also found that Lettie is living with their daughter Hester (who's last name is now Penny), and Hester's daughter, Nettie in the 1880 census. They are all living next door to George and Henrietta and their daughter Eldora in Mount Pleasant.

I am assuming that since you don't have Lettie's last name, but have her full birth and death dates, that you might have found their headstones in the cemetery.

Could you let me know, if it's not too much trouble?

Thank you, Mary Van Dyke--Mnajpa 13:20, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
