Defect 1

James Mattock's daughter was the widow Alice Bishop that married John Lewis in 1659 per his will. But Nathaniel Bishop lived until 1687 and his wife Alice was alive in 1674, so she must have been a different Alice, and James Mattock's daughter must have married a different Bishop. --Jrich 20:32, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

Defect 2 [20 July 2016]

Perhaps Savage's confusion about Joseph stems from his looking for "Matthewson" - when the WR tree show "Williams"? [posted by jrm3063]

If you remove the wife from the passage, since that appears completely wrong, Savage tells you nothing about Joseph except his name. One would assume, based on his goal of describing people in New England by 1692 that he is talking about Joseph Matteson of East Greenwich, RI, s/o Henry, who married Rachel ----, but Savage has not given any indication of a location or a year to help us decide who he means. On p. 4:524 he does not say who Sarah Whitman married and on p. 4:563-4 he doesn't mention anything about Joseph Williams except to list his birth under father Daniel, which is the only sign he means Joseph Williams, but doesn't know it. --Jrich 02:34, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
