Defect 1

"mentions the setting of a widow's thirds, which does not appear in the document cited. He also says William was called brother, when he is very clearly called half-brother. Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut, Vol. 2, part 2, p. 1150, does a better job of abstracting the probate documents (no indication of a widow given) but says Daniel drowned in "December, 1653", when he would have been too young to warrant a probate."
