Of his ch. we can hardly speak with certainty. Prob. Joshua, wh. d. 12
Nov. 1658, at Boston, was the oldest, and h. of that Elizabeth N. call. on
adm. to our ch. 30 Mar. 1634, "d.-in-law to our sis. Ann N." Elizabeth
prob. the eldest d. m. John Oliver, and aft. his d. m. 14 Mar. 1649, Edward
Jackson; Sarah, ano d. m. Peter Oliver, br of the h. of her sis.
and d. Oct. 1692; Nathaniel, b. a. 1627; and Hannah, the youngest, m.
22 Feb. 1653, Simon Lynde, was nam. in the will of her mo. 6 Aug.
1676 pro. 8 Apr. 1679; but her gr.ch. Elizabeth and Nathaniel Lynde, and
Nathaniel N. of London are ment. His will, of 25 Nov. 1664, with
codic. of 8 May foll. is in Geneal. Reg. XIII. 333. NATHANIEL, Boston,
s. of the preced. b. in Eng. ar. co. 1646, went home, prob. bef. m.
there had Nathaniel, a merch. in London, by his w. Isabel, wh. surv.
him, and in 1671, was w. of John Johnson of London. Farmer says
some of the descend. write the name Newdigate, as was here done
occasionally.
NEWGROVE, JOHN, Dover 1648.
NEWHALL, ANTHONY, oft. confus. with Newell, Lynn 1636, some
time of Salem, d. 31 Jan. 1657, had John, and, perhaps, other childr.
for his will of 14 Jan. pro. 31 Mar. 1657, ment. gr.ch. Richard and Elizabeth
Hood. JOHN, Lynn, s. of Anthony, m. 31 Dec. 1676, Elizabeth Normanton,
had, perhaps, issue, but ano. JOHN, Lynn, m. 3 Feb. 1657, Elizabeth
Payton, wh. d. 22 Oct. 1677, had Nathaniel, b. 3 Apr. 1658; Sarah, 22
Aug. 1662; John, 11 Oct. 1664, perhaps d. young; Rebecca, 6 Dec.
1670; Mary, 27 Sept. 1673; Priscilla, 24 Nov. 1676; and a ch. 9 Oct.
1677, d. same day; and by ano. w. it is said, had Hannah, 6 Mar. 1680;
and John, again, 13 Oct. 1681, d. in 3 wks. so that one is daunted at the
proximity of the two Johns and Elizabeth Sarah m. 3 Mar. 1680, Timothy
Breed. A third JOHN, of Lynn, m. 18 June 1677, Esther, d. of William
Bartram, had Elizabeth b. 12 May 1678; Sarah, 15 Feb. 1680, d. in
few days; Jonathan, 25 Dec. 1681; Sarah, again, 23 Jan. 1683; and
Jeremiah, 12 Feb. 1685. One of these Johns was freem. 1684, and two
in 1691, of wh. one is mark. sen. and the other ens. But Lewis provides
for a JOHN, of Lynn, much earlier, s. of Thomas, b. in Eng. to m.
10 Apr. 1646, Sarah Lewis. Some doubt rises in my mind bec. I kn. not
whose d. she was or could be. JOSEPH, Lynn, s. of Thomas, freem. 1690,
had Jemima, b. Dec. 1678; and Thomas, 16 Jan. 1681. He was, perhaps,
the first Thomas, and may be that Joseph who perish. in the gr.
snow storm 29 and 30 Jan. 1705. Jemima m. Benjamin Very of Salem.
NATHANIEL, Lynn, s. of Thomas, is prob. the freem. of 1691, call.
junr. but NATHANIEL, s. of John, is prob. that freem. 1691, call. sen.
THOMAS, Lynn 1630, Mr. Lewis thinks, brot. John, had Thomas, the
first Eng. ch. b. in that town. His w. d. 25 Sept. 1665, and he d. 25
