Watertown, perhaps br. of Edmund, of whom, in 1635, he was excor.
freem. 9 Mar. 1637, by w. Susanna had Jonathan, b. 10 Sept. 1634;
Deborah, 12 Oct. 1636; Joseph, 6 Aug. 1638; Daniel, 25 Mar. 1640;
Ephraim, 1 Dec. 1641; Gershom, 6 Sept; 1643; rem. to Fairfield aft.
1645, but bef. 1652; d. 1658. His wid. Susanna m. Jeffery Ferris, and
was d. May 1661. All the ch. bef. nam. exc. Deborah, partook of his
est. and four others, John, Abigail, Sarah, and Mary, perhaps all b. at
Fairfield. Abigail m. John Barlow of Fairfield; and Mary m. Jonathan
Huested of Greenwich. Eleven of this name had been gr. at
Yale 1834.

    LOFT, RICHARD, a maltster, from Kent, Eng. d. here 1690. By his
will of 25 Apr. pro. 24 May in that yr. he gave all his prop. to wid. Elizabeth

    LOGEE, PHILIP, Salem, m. 11 Sept. 1673, Mary Snasher (if Essex
Inst. II. 257 may be trust. for such names), had Philip, b. 27 Aug. (foll.
is not the word, but preced.); Mary, 16 Aug. 1675, Abigail, 24 June 1687;
and Abraham, 14 Mar. 1689. Some approach to the name of h. is giv. by
Mr. Drake, to a serv. of the w. of Samuel Andrews, in Geneal. Reg. XIV.
310, emb. in the Increase at London, 1635, Ellyn Lougie, but some yrs.
bef. I had copied from the same record Ellyn Longe, and in printing 3 Mass.
Hist. Coll. VIII.258, had call. it nearer to an Eng. one. We all kn. how easi.
the letters n and u may change serv. but by gain of an i the Salem fam. might
not be pleas.

    LOGYN or LOGAN, ALEXANDER, Charlestown, one of the Scots'
Charit. Soc. 1684, by w. Susanna had Alexander, bapt. 3 May 1685;
John, same day; James, 29 July 1687; Jonathan, 28 Mar. 1690; Ebenezer,
13 Nov. 1692; Isaac, 10 Nov. 1695. JACOB, a propr. at Watertown
1642, says Bond, wh. tells no more.

    LOHUN, WILLIAM, Swansey, had Nathaniel, b. 2 Feb. 1675; and
was k. by the Ind. 24 June foll.

    LOKER, JOHN, Sudbury, had, bef. 1652, m. Mary Draper.

    LOLLENDINE, JOHN, Dunstable, an orig. sett. a 1673, contin. a householder
1699.

    LOMBARD, LUMBORT or LUMBART, BENJAMIN, Barnstable, youngest
of Thomas the first, m. 19 Sept. 1672, Jane Warren, prob. d. of Nathaniel,
wh. d. 27 Feb. 1683, had Mercy, b. 2 Nov. 1673; Benjamin,
Sept. 1675; and Hope, 26 Mar. 1679; and he m. 19 Nov. 1685, sec.
w. Sarah Walker, had Sarah, 29 Oct. 1686; Bathshua, 4 May 1687;
Mary, 17 June 1688; and Samuel, 15 Sept. 1691. His w. d. 6 Nor.
1693, and he m. 24 May fop. wid. Hannah Whetstone, had Temperance,
25 May 1695; and Martha, 28 Dec. 1704. BERNARD, s. of Thomas,
b. in O. E. took the o. of freem. in Mass. 1 Apr. 1634, when he was,
perhaps, of Dorchester, but soon went to Scituate, where he may have
been earlier, but with his w. join. the ch. 19 Apr. 1635, thence to Barnstable,
with Lothrop, hav. then Joshua, and Mary, bapt. at S. 8 Oct.
1637, not 57 as in Geneal. Reg. XII. 249, the former, perhaps, b. in
Eng. but at B. where be was ensign 1652, had Martha, bapt. 3 Nov.
1639, not, as in Geneal. Reg. XII. 249, perhaps d. soon, for in Col. Rec.
Martha, b. 19 Sept. 1640, tho. we may suspect error in this; and
