[{{{1}}}] This template is used to embed an added comment in a transcription of an original document. Comments are usually embedded when quoting or abstracting a source or document that may not be correct. This addresses the problem that in any document, there may already be added comments that were inserted by the authors or editors, using the same mechanism the poster may choose (i.e., brackets, strikeout, etc.). This attempts to provide a distinctive and consistent appearance to added comments so they may be quickly recognized as added by a poster, and not part of the original. Added comments should be used for small comments, and sparingly to avoid distracting too much from the original material. They are particularly useful when a fact is wrong, and it is desired to warn that the error is known, but that is what the transcribed document says. Putting the comment in a separate note, or adding a comment after the transcription, may not have adequate immediacy in the flow of reading to avoid confusion. If long discussions are needed, the added comment should something like "see following comment" or "see [[#N1|note]]". Some characters may not be usable if they confuse template syntax.
