- I. Aaron Smith Brokaw; Born January 12th, 1821, in Ohio. Married Lydia Ann Marvin about 1842. Moved to Bureau County, Illinois, early in the fifties and settled on a prairie farm nine miles north of Princeton. Died in April 1862.

- 1. Isaac Oregon Brokaw; Born about 1844, in Bureau County, Illinois. Married Mary Manly. Was express messenger, postal clerk, and then shoe-merchant at Princeton, Illinois. Died about 1908.
- 2. William Owen Brokaw; Born in 1846, in

- Bureau County, Illinois. Married. The last I have known of him he was a farmer near Montezume, Iowa.
- 3. George Lewis Brokaw; Born July 18th, 1849, in Bureau County, Illinois. Graduate of Abington College. Taught several years. Married a Miss Wilson at Liscomb, Iowa. Became a successful minister in the Christian Church. Was State Evangelist and State Secretary for the Christian Church in Iowa for several years. Edited a church paper called Christian Union. Died about 1905.

- (1) Dura Brokaw; Born February 16th, 1877, at Liscomb, Iowa. Graduate of Drake University. Married a graduate student, Egbert R. Cockrell. They moved to Texas. Both taught in Texas Christian University. In 1921 Mr. Cockrell was elected mayor of Fort Worth, Texas.
- (2) Roy W. Brokaw; Born June 23d, 1880, at Roseville, Illinois.
- (3) Zoe Brokaw; Born May 1st, 1883, at Liscomb, Iowa. Died December 20th, 1884.
- (4) Zell Brokaw; Born July 1st, 1889, at Des Moines, Iowa.

- 4. Mary Jane Brokaw; Born in 1852, in Bureau County, Illinois. Married a man by the name of Stewart, at Princeton, Illinois.
- 5. Asa S. Brokaw; Born in 1854, in Bureau County, Illinois. Killed in 1875 in a railroad accident.

- II. Jane Brokaw; Born January 22d, 1823, in Ohio. Married Moses Walace. Died August 9th, 1891 in Iowa.

- V. Mary Brokaw; Born December 26th, 1830. She married a man by the name of Chester Smith.
