Usage Tips

Marriage licenses have been issued by the Clerk of Orphans Court at each county courthouse since September 30, 1885. This collection includes marriage records from various counties beginning in 1845 through 1963.

Marriage certificates recorded the following details:

  • name of the groom and bride
  • marriage place
  • gender and race
  • age and date of birth
  • parents' names
  • certificate number

This database contains records from the following counties: Adams, Allegheny, Clarion, Clearfield, Fulton, Montgomery, Potter, and Snyder.
