This collection consists of indices of deaths from the state of New York. Details vary, but may include the following information for the deceased:

  • name
  • death date
  • death city
  • age at death
  • gender
  • certificate number

Death records from Albany, Buffalo, and Yonkers were held locally until 1914. Records from Buffalo and Albany have been added, but deaths from Yonkers do not appear in the collection. Similarly, records from New York City were also maintained separately.
