This seems to be the first detailed treatment of Nathaniel Mott, listed as able to bear arms at Scituate in 1643. The article deals with "Nathaniel Mott and his sons, showing where they settled, giving their children, and tracing a few of his more distinguished descendants."

Nathaniel's sons treated in the article are: John (b. 1659), Nathaniel (b. 1661), Samuel (b. 1668), Edward (b. 1673), and Ebenezer (1675).

When compared to Braintree records, it appears that some of Moriarty's dates have typos, and in some cases he has interpreted Old Style/New Style dates incorrectly. (For example, the dates he gives for Nathaniel's children Samuel, Lydia and Ebenezer conflict with those in Braintree records.)
