Georgetown, Ill. — John Ted Cohoon, 65, of Georgetown Route 1, died Tuesday (June 10, 1986) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville.
He lived in Chicago from 1943 until his retirement in 1983, working 38 years as a railroad engineer
for the Chicago and Eastern Illinois railroad which was later called the Missouri Pacific, He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Born Aug. 20, 1920in Colville, Wash., son of John and Nelie Clark Cohoon, He married Rebecca Chrisman In 1939. He then married Lorraine LeClaire in 1944. She survives,
Other survivors: four sons, Darrell from Ohio, David of Harvey, Jerry and Keith, both of Georgetown; four daughters, Judith VanNote of Danville, Diana Riley of Harvey, Deborah Escoe from Louisiana, Daria Miller from West Germany; a sister, Jesie LaMar of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren;
2 -great-grancfchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and two brothers.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Houghton Leasure Funeral Home;
Officiating: Rev. Leon Korb;
Burial: Danville National Cemetery; Visitation: 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sundayat the funeral home; Graveside military rites by Dornblaser American Legion
Members of VFW will be pallbearers.
