Usage Tips

This site contains the IGI batch numbers for extracted records in the US, Canada and UK. "Extracted" records are those that come from published vital records and similar sources, rather than user-submitted files. To use the site, follow the links through country and state/province/county to lists by town. If records for a town are in the IGI, a batch number for the births and/or marriages is listed, followed by the years covered in that batch. Either click on the batch number itself to search those records by surname, or enter the batch number into the advanced search form on the FamilySearch search page.
